Causes of Hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are painful and swollen veins located in the lower rectal region. This condition is commonly referred as piles and may occur in people of all ages. The symptoms associated with this condition are itching around anus, pain, bleeding and inflammation causing discomfort even while sitting. Bleeding is more common in case of internal hemorrhoids showing a severe sign that should not be taken lightly and an immediate consultation with doctor is required. People experiencing problem with digestion either diarrhea or constipation generally develop hemorrhoids . There may be other causes such as obesity and a low intake of fiber rich diet. Weight lifters and hypertensive people may also develop this state. It may be diagnosed easily while having a rectal exam by doctor or asking the patient for other methods to investigate hemorrhoids such as Anoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy and Stool guaiac (in which bleeding is checked in stools). Therefore a presence of fresh red blood in stools or at toilet paper needs prompt medical attention by an individual.
